Air Travel

New York City (NYC) is conviently serviced by 3 major international airports:

  • John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)
  • Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)
  • LaGuardia International Airport (LGA)

To get to and from the airports, we have put together this convenient little guide to help guide your travel decisions.

John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)

Subway - you can take the AirTrain from your terminal to the Jamaica Station.  From there you have the option to take the E, J, or Z trains.  All of these go to Lower Manhattan - you can take the E to World Trade Center or the J or Z to Broad St.  All of these stops are within walking distance of the hotel.  The total one way fair is $7.50 on this route ($5 for the AirTrain, $2.50 for the subway).  Your ride should be from 1 hour, 10 minutes, to 1 hour, 30 minutes.

Train + Subway - you can take the AirTrain from your terminal to the Jamaica Station.  From there, take an Hempstead LIRR train to Atlantic Avenue, where you can transfer to a 2, 3, 4, or 5 train to Wall Street.  From there, the hotel is a short walk from one of these stations.  The total cost will be at least $12.50 and will take from 1 hour, 10 minutes, to 1 hour, 30 minutes.

Taxi - A taxi from JFK has a flat fare of $52.00 without tip (with tip it shuold be $58-$62) and will take 35 minutes to 1 hour depending on traffic.

Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)

Train + Subway - you can take the AirTrain from your terminal to the NJ Transit Station.  From there, take the NJ Transit Train to New York Penn Station.  We recommend that travelers on trains that arrive at Penn Station to take the 1 train to Rector Street (or the savvy / daring traveler can take the 2 or 3 to Chambers Street and then transfer to a downtown 1 to Rector Street).  The New York Marriott Downtown is a short walk from Rector Street station.

LaGuardia International Airport (LGA)

There are no good mass transit options from LaGuardia.  A taxi will cost you $35.00-$50.00, with the price variance a function of traffic.  You can also use a car service - Dial7 will run you about $40.00 with tip, flat fee.
